Let's go camping in the Sandhills!

Who doesn't like to rough it once in a while? Tenting anyone? Camping? We have sites for everyone here, from rustic to a little bit of luxury. Yes, there is electricity out here and running water - hey, there's even the internet and expanded TV. But not everywhere....

Double check whether these campgrounds will be opening for the season. 

 

Allen Bridge Camp - 402-890-1245

 

Berry Bridge Campground - Phone: 402-376-3474: Camping along the Niobrara River. Tent camping, bunkhouses and campers that don't require electric or water are available. Located 11 miles east of Valentine, west of Berry Bridge. Concessions on site for basic needs. Reservations and walk-ins accepted based on availability.

 

Big Alkali Fish Camp, LLC - 402-376-1523: Cabins, RV sites, primitive camping, showers and restrooms. Concession with pop, ice and fishing gear. Located 16 miles south of Valentine on Highway 83, four miles west on 16B. 

 

Cody City Park - located at Cody, NE.

Fishberry Campground - 1-866-376-1662: Located five miles north of the Highway 20 and 83 junction at Valentine and four miles south of the Nebraska - South Dakota border on Highway 83. Large pull throughs with full hookups and tent sites. Clean restrooms with hot showers. Free high speed wireless Internet.

Merritt Reservoir Campground - 402-471-1414: Located 20 miles from the heart of Valentine, down Highway 97. There are many different types of camping available, from rustic to glamping. 


Penbrook Campground - 402-376-3474


Rock Barn Camp - 402-322-0463: Camping at historic Rock Barn is available to all persons canoeing or tubing the river with us. The camp provides a friendly atmosphere. 

 

Rocky Ford Camp - 402-497-3479: The last stop along the scenic Niobrara River! General store with wood, ice and a coffee bar. Come camp and enjoy a day or week! All sites have picnic tables, fire rings with grills and trash cans. Free showers and restrooms for customers. Take Highway 12 to Sparks then south and east 12 miles to Rocky Ford Camp. 


Sharp's Campground - 402-376-2506 - Sharp's Outfitters is the only place to go for your adventure! With 2.5 miles of campground. Almost all of the sties are riverside.  RV hookups, on site concessions. Take Highway 12 to mile marker 18 at Sparks, NE, and head south five miles. Located at the bottom of the hill.

Smith Falls State Park - 402-376-1306: Primitive camping right next to the Niobrara River which will lull you to sleep come bedtime. 


Sparks RV and Camping\Dryland Aquatic - 1-800-337-3119, 402-376-3119: There are eight RV sites with 15 amp, 30 amp, and 50 amp electrical hook ups. Water is available. Located just off Highway 12 in the town of Sparks. Restrooms and shower house. Plenty of area to tent camp. Lillie's Cafe and Sparks Store are within walking distance.

Steer Creek at McKelvie National Forest - 308-533-2257

 

Sunny Brook Camp - 1-877-376-1887: Sleep under the stars in your tent after a great day on the river - or if you are just looking to get back to nature and the river sounds. Convenience store, showers and restrooms. 


Valentine City Park - What a beautiful location for primitive camping, yet so close to town. Located along the Minnechaduza Creek, tents and RVs are welcome. No electricity or water. Restrooms are available. No reservations needed.


Wacky West - 1-866-376-1771: Located north of Bomgaars in Valentine, along the Scenic Cowboy Trail. Full hookups, pull through sites, nice restrooms and showers, WiFi, and 20\30\50 amps available. There are 31 sites including 12 new winter sites. Only park in town.
