Throughout the year, there are several fishing tournaments that are held on lakes of the Sandhills!

 

You'll notice as the slide show scrolls on by that there are Game and Parks personnel who work during the spring to capture eggs that are quickly fertilized, incubated, allowed to grow, and finally released into the Nebraska waters for your fishing pleasure!

June - Andrew Claymon Memorial Fishing Tournament at Merritt Reservoir

 

In autumn, the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service holds a kids fishing day at Fort Niobrara NWR, TBA.
