Your 4 season, family fun, Nebraska Sandhills adventure awaits!

Happy Birthday America!!!

It’s America’s birthday July 4th...and we know how to celebrate it in Valentine, Nebraska! There is a day full of events that begins with a parade that will lead you to Badger Memorial Field.

Everyone is encouraged to listen to our youth recite the Declaration of Independence as the bell is rung for each of the 13 original colonies. This is brought to the public through Leo Brinda Unit 90 and its Auxiliaries in Valentine. Any states that are represented are also invited to ring the bell in honor of their home town.

Then it’s DERBY TIME! Nothing like slamming home the message that we’re a free United States than to have a smash-up, good time at the Cherry County Fairgrounds. Depending on the number of entries will determine the number of heats for the annual Demolition Derby with the Powder Puff held for the last round.

Engines roar, alliances are formed, dirt is kicked around as contestants vie to be number one! You can enter too! After all, the more the merrier.

Then as the sun goes down... our skies blend into velvet purples and blues...it’s time to turn our attention to the Rockets Red Glaring overhead. The fireworks are provided by the Valentine Lions Club.

This is an exciting event you won’t want to miss in Valentine, Nebraska!
