Heart of Valentine Christmas Parade of Lights

The inagural Heart of Christmas Parade of Lights was held in 2015! Organizers have made the decision to hold the parade every year on Small Business Saturday, held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities.

So forget all about Black Friday, and make sure you visit downtown Valentine for the Heart of Christmas Parade of Lights as well as the unique and diverse shopping there is!

In conjunction with the parade in 2015 the United Methodist Church had a live nativity, complete with Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus, a couple of sheep, a donkey, and of course the wisemen. A spaghetti feed was also held along with entertainment.

Everyone is invited to do their own thing to bring shoppers to Valentine and enjoy the Hometown Small-Town Shopping Experience! After a Black-Friday shopping experience, this is a must for every weary shopper. And unique finds there are in the Heart City.

The 2016 parade was warm, balmy, and had businesses serving up chili for parade goers. The final float in the parade was Santa who visited with all the girls and boys at his headquarters and listened to their Christmas gift wishes.

On the sidewalk was a s'mores bar courtesy of the Cherry County Ag Society, and Nails by Becky served up some chili.

Mark your calendars...this is something new, you'll look forward too!
