Your 4 season, family fun, Nebraska Sandhills adventure awaits!

Old West Days & Nebraska Cowboy Gathering

This year Old West Days and Nebraska Poetry Gathering will be celebrating 30 years of bringing you a weekend of fun, entertainment, music and poetry! 
The fun begins on Thursday with an Old Time Melodrama at 7:30 p.m. at the Valentine High School. 

The next day, Friday, begins with poetry and music sessions at 9:00 a.m. and featured performers will begin at 7:30 p.m. What to do in the interim? Check out the Western Art, trade and quilt show at the Valentine High School Gym at 10:00 a.m. There are other poetry and music sessions that are free!!!

Saturday begins with poetry and music sessions again at 9:00 a.m. Several of the performers will have their books, music and poetry on sale. You can bring that special poem and music home and share it with your loved ones. There are more performances at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.


Sunday begins with Old West Services held at various churches. Then saddle up your horse for the trail ride that begins at 1:30 p.m. For location and directions go to


The Nebraska Cowboy Poetry Gathering will conclude with the evening performance of the Old Time Melodrama at 7:30 p.m. 


All the events are free except the Old Time Melodrama and the featured poetry and music sessions.
